Technical Rescue Standby (Emergency Response/Rescue Teams - ERRT)

Invictus Fire Rescue Corp. provides technical rescue standby for high hazard work where confined space and complex access incidents demand immediate, competent action. We support ERRT requirements for shutdowns and turnarounds, time critical outages, unplanned maintenance, and high risk project scopes where response capability must be onsite and ready from the start. Our standby teams are built for the realities of industrial work, including changing access conditions, evolving hazards, simultaneous work fronts, and compressed schedules.

Standby coverage is established through rigorous pre-job rescue planning, defined onsite roles, and integration with your site emergency plan so the response posture is in place before work begins. We also support the systems that sit behind the work by helping clients meet applicable OHS requirements and site standards, including Alberta OHS, WorkSafeBC, and other jurisdictional and client specific expectations. Our teams work alongside supervision and safety leadership to maintain reliable rescue execution, clear communications, and documentation practices that align with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
•Standby configurations selected to match client scope, hazards, and site constraints.
•Minimum personnel competency: NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue and Confined Space Rescue (Operations Level) as well as all Industry Standard Certification.
•CSA compliant Level III First Aid Kits, with Supplemental Oxygen and AED options.
•Scott™ SCBAs supported by thermal imaging capability.
•Stretcher, patient packaging, and extrication systems for any rescue environment.
•Site specific rescue plan development for each scope, including access mapping, rescue pathways, atmospheric hazards, and medical integration.

Our technical rescue standby capabilities extends beyond confined space and rope rescue into specialized hazards and remote conditions where municipal response is delayed, limited, or unavailable. We can build standby coverage for isolated road networks, winter access routes, mountain corridors, and remote spreads that require self-contained rescue/medical services. We will then tailor the team, plan, and equipment to the actual access constraints and rescue pathways. Specialty scopes can include swiftwater and ice rescue support for wildfire operations and industrial water interfaces, certified small craft operators for waterborne access/controlled retrieval, grain and engulfment rescue standby for bulk handling environments, and vehicle rescue standby for remote infrastructure such as pipeline work.

Energy & Emergency Response Consulting

Invictus Fire Rescue Corp. provides consulting and operational support that strengthens emergency readiness before an event and improves command and control during one. We work with energy and industrial clients across Alberta and the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin on emergency management, ERP design/upgrades, pre-incident planning, and ICS based command support. When incidents escalate, we can provide experienced advisory and incident management staff to help establish structure, confirm priorities, align communications, and coordinate resources through stabilization and recovery.

Our work is grounded in field realities, including industrial fires, tank and battery incidents, pipeline and linear infrastructure events, dangerous goods and HAZMAT releases, and transportation emergencies. We can also provide support for wellsite incidents, including blowouts. Services also include readiness assessments, shutdown and turnaround preparedness, technical rescue planning support, exercise design/delivery, and OH&S oversight (including CRSP® support where required). Deliverables are practical and implementable, built to satisfy regulatory expectations, internal governance, and the operational demands of high consequence, high hazard work.
